Even after 30 years of painting Brent Trollé remains passionate about painting and continues to strive for perfection with his work.

He derives great pleasure from standing outdoors in remote countryside painting the exquisite New Zealand scenery.

A published professional, Brent is renowned as one of New Zealand premier traditional artists. All his work is begun on site thus giving his work vibrancy and true to life feel. Brent enjoys the challenge of capturing the New Zealand landscape in all its seasons and beauty.

His passion for painting began as a boy, with his father he visited many dealer galleries and has ever since had great admiration for the early New Zealand painters (between 1940-1970) for their technical excellence gained from the classical training of the time.

As a boy visiting a Canterbury gallery he had the good fortune to meet the renowned Canterbury painter Austen Deans whom over the years has had a major influence on his work.

Brent paints in a number of different mediums, depicting the landscape in realistic, traditional, and impressionistic styles.

Brent and his wife Grace travel to most areas in the South Island from Nelson to Otago at various times throughout the year to paint the subjects and atmosphere, which are so unique to New Zealand. Brent and Grace reside in Hokitika and welcome visitors to view original works of art at their home gallery.

Brent and Grace have painted and exhibited extensively in the United States, Canada and have work in many private collections around the world.
