Welcome to the website and gallery of professional landscape artist Brent Trolle.

Brent is a plein-air painter who enjoys to paint both traditional and impressionistic

oil paintings on location.

Brent’s passion for painting on location takes us to many picturesque areas in New

Zealand and to several wonderful overseas locations.  United States, Canada, Fiji and Australia are great winter locations. Favourite New Zealand places include

Mt Cook, Milford, Wanaka, Nelson, Wellington, Coromandel and our local area of the West Coast.

Colours of the landscape vary with each location from the warm yellow  ochre

and burnt sienna’s  of Canterbury to the rich warm greens and reds of Westland.

Painting on location poses many challenges for the artist from rain and sand-flies of the coastal areas and Milford Sound to the strong Nor-west winds that sweep the  Canterbury plains.
